For the past five weeks we have been working on a unit called: Look Again in our Imagine It! Reader. Students have learned all about different animals who camouflage and hide. Our final project was:
1. Hide a die cut animal in a piece of scrapbook paper by following the patterns.
2. Write about 4 interesting/fascinating things they enjoyed learning about.
We went on a Synonym and Antonym Bear Hunt. There were pairs of words hidden all over the classroom. (Thanks to my wonderful Intern - Miss Davies for writing them all out)! Students then organized them on their desks into piles. We then came together as a group and made a large circle map. It turned out to be a great way for the students to practice synonyms and antonyms.
We had a very fun and busy day on Monday. I was so excited to share all these neat activities with my class - a huge THANK YOU goes to all the wonderful teachers who have shared ideas on their blogs!
These are my 2 new favorite books!
We started out with Literature in the morning. We read 2 stories together and created projects to go along with them. Then, we talked about how they are similar (and today we'll create a Venn Diagram to compare/contrast them - we just ran out of time yesterday).
