Valentine's Day

We had a very fun and busy day on Monday.  I was so excited to share all these neat activities with my class - a huge THANK YOU goes to all the wonderful teachers who have shared ideas on their blogs!


These are my 2 new favorite books!






We started out with Literature in the morning.  We read 2 stories together and created projects to go along with them.  Then, we talked about how they are similar (and today we'll create a Venn Diagram to compare/contrast them - we just ran out of time yesterday).















Our afternoon was filled with math skills.  The students predicted, sorted, measured, graphed and categorized candy hearts and their Valentine's cards.  We even had a class challenge to see who could pick up the most candy hearts using chop sticks!

    What a fun day!! It looks like your students had a great time. Are they racing to pick up hearts with chop sticks? This game looks like a lot of fun. I know I'm wanting my kids to try this game next year.

    Yes! They had such a great time! They are so surprised of how many they estimate vs. how many they can actually pick up. It's much harder then they think. I know your students will love it too! Thanks for visiting:)
