For the Love of Our Earth… Posted

It's been a slow starting getting back into the school year but I think I'm starting to pick up some momentum!  

This week we are reading "For the Love of Our Earth" and my students created their Kid and Earth Mobiles.  I think they are looking good!  They wrote about how they would show kindness towards the  Earth.

Earth Day Quilt

  

These are pictures from 2 years ago (as my class is doing the activity today).

We made a paper quilt using words from Louis Armstrong's song "What a Wonderful World." I loved this idea!  I played the song and turned off the lights.  The kids listened to the song. We talked about imagery and painting pictures in your head. Then, I passed out the squares. I typed the lyrics on each page and the kids illustrated. I can't wait to do it again today and see how my class "Imagines" the lyrics.
